Description
The Fender Acoustasonic Player Telecaster is a streamlined version of the American Acoustasonic introduced in 2019. Built in Fenders Ensenada factory in Baja California, it shares many of the specs in a more accessible package. Two pickups provide a total of six different voices, marrying acoustic and electric tones in the same instrument. Available now at Guitar Center, the Acoustasonic Player Tele is a versatile as they come, giving you vast sonic options for live performance and recording.?
Versatile Pickups With Acoustic and Electric Voices
Fender loads the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster with two pickupsa Fishman undersaddle acoustic piezo and a Tim Shaw-designed Noiseless single coil. The 3-way switch selects three different voice pairs which can be played solo or blended with the Blend knob for infinite variety. The first pair is all acoustic, giving you the option of a mahogany small-body short scale with a focused sound, or a rosewood dreadnought that strums and strings like a classic American-made flattop. The second voice pair is lo-fi cleanthe unaffected sound of the undersaddle pickupplus lo-fi crunch, which adds a touch of electric tone. The last pair give you the option of pristine Tele tones and fatter, more searing electric sounds. A 9V battery powers the pickups for a tours worth of play time, but as always, your mileage may vary.
Body Built Like an Acoustic
The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster?is built like an acoustic guitar, with mahogany back and sides and a Grade A Sitka spruce top. Fender uses transverse bracing on the top, which is essentially ladder bracing, but with an angled center brace. A two-ring black/white/black rosette surrounds the sound hole.
Acoustasonic Player Neck Construction
The mahogany neck on this Tele has a Modern Deep C shape with a rosewood fretboard. The 12" radius is flatter than a traditional Tele, and approaches the fingerboard profile of a standard acoustic. It splits the difference quite well, making the Acoustasonic Telecaster an excellent lead instrument thats difficult to put down. Fortunately, the neck is finished in satin urethane, so your hands wont stick during long sets and practice sessions.
Hardware for the Long Haul
Fender standard cast, sealed staggered tuners provide a lifetime of reliability. Combined with the modern asymmetrical bridge, you can expect easy tuning with accurate intonation. The neck has a Bi-Flex truss rod for action adjustment in both concave and convex directions.?The Fender Acoustasonic Player Telecaster comes with a 1225 deluxe gig bag featuring a padded handle and shock-absorbing padded backpack straps.?
