Description
The left-handed Academy 10e dreadnought acoustic-electric represents Taylor's effort to support the development of the entry-level guitar player. The Academy 10 was designed to offer enough immediate gratification to encourage a new player to keep playing with a comfortable feel, rewarding sound and the ability to cover a broad range of musical styles. Built with a classic dreadnought shape, the Academy borrows the slightly smaller footprint of the Big Baby Taylor for comfort and adds a body depth that's 3/4 of an inch deeper to provide a full voice with more low-end response. To enhance the handfeel and overall playability for entry-level players, Taylor chose a 24-7/8" scale length with a 1-11/16" nut width. This lefty Academy 10e also includes Taylor's ES-B system, which incorporates piezo design elements from the flagship Taylor ES2 system. Powered by a 9V battery, its onboard preamp includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner, an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, and a tone-sculpting 3-band EQ.
